I’ve been active in photography for about two years while at my position at the Sulphur Springs News-Telegram. Whether the assignment is a simple proclamation reading or football game, I strive for creating clear, usable art for both web and print. All of these are taken using a Nikon D3500 with one of two lenses: Nikon 18-55mm f3 5-5.6 or Nikon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G VR. I have recently been using a Nikon D3 with a Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 lens.

Photo Editing

I’ve included some examples of my photo edits here. I am familiar enough with Adobe Photoshop to refine any photo or make neat artwork, but I admit I’ve only scratched the surface of what the software is capable of. However, I love learning new skills during a challenging project and applying them in the future.

This was taken at the South Sulphur Unit of the Cooper Lake State Park in Hopkins County, Texas as part of what I turned in for a photo and story assignment on the park.
I made this artwork of the Hopkins County Courthouse using a modern photo, taken by me, and a photo from the 1910s. The courthouse was nearing its 125th anniversary of its construction in 2019, and I was assigned to write about it. I proposed making this, and my editor approved and used it for the front page.
